Simple Troubleshooting Soy Candle Making

August 23, 2020 by Frank Maiden

When you received the error code for troubleshooting soy candle making, today's user guide was generated.

Rough and coarse candles - caused by pouring soy wax at a temperature too high for the wax. Always water your soy wax at the lowest temperature possible. When the temperature is cold, soy wax can crack.

Super Creamy Soy Wax is our top selling wax because it is very easy to use and works exceptionally well when used correctly.

I am also an avid candle maker and have made hundreds of soy candles using Super Creamy Wax. We believe this wax has been rigorously tested.

However, we strongly recommend that you test the products on a small scale first to ensure you get the correct results. Since our products are natural, there may be differences in the use of different waxes and different scents. You may behave differently than in the past, so you may need to rewrite a little.

Not all soy waxes are created equal. Not all soy waxes are 100% natural. Many contain unnatural / unhealthy additives such as petroleum wax, unethically sourced palm wax leading to worldwide deforestation problems, and even greasy wax (animal fat)

Do you often say that your supplements are natural, but don't mention what they are? For me, this raises a lot of red flags.

Our 100% NaturalSoy soy waxes are hydrogenated and formulated to exact specifications, so they may differ from other soy waxes that contain additives.

What is the pouring temperature for soy wax?

Typically, soy container wax should be poured between 120 ° F and 140 ° F. Column-shaped candles made from paraffin wax work best when spilled above 180 ° F. Wax is poured at 150-160 ° F, while candles containing other paraffin waxes have a temperature of 170-180 degrees Fahrenheit.

When dealing with natural products and not plastics, never assume that what works for another brand of soy wax and one brand of scented candle oil is the same without rigorous testing.

(I once left a portion of soy wax on the stove and it boiled. I left the wax to see what happens? It had an almost deserted topped end, stockings and gloss after hours of research I found a solution on the internet and was able to recover the overheated soy wax by adding 50g per kg of shea butter to the soy wax, which has returned the soy wax to the desired creamy shade. I add shea butter to my last fill to avoid problems.

If this is your first time making candles or are in trouble, don't worry? Most problems can be easily resolved. Another tip I learned years ago is to use a heat gun (Bunnings sells them for under $ 30 - or youcan only use a hair dryer with a diffuser) to re-coat the surface. the candle in liquid form will make it liquid again to return to the smooth end.

The appearance of the candles does not affect smell or performance. As soon as you light the candle, it will return to a puddle of liquid wax. If it hardens, it will have a smooth surface. However, if you give your soy candles, you can add a small amount of shea butter (50 g of shea butter to 1 kg of soy wax) on top to get a smooth creamy shade every time. A great way to not deal with all the environmental factors that Mother Nature throws at us :)

How do you keep soy wax from cracking?

Possible solutions: use the correct sized bit for your container. Always use the correct amount of additives (Know the minimum and maximum allowable wax amount. Rough Surfaces / Cracks: Spark plugs have an uneven, rough surface or small air bubbles that lead to small holes, cracks and / or lines of cracks.
